LA Premier FC Joins BCC

Boys Club Championship To Begin This Fall

July 29, 2014 (Los Angeles, CA) – LA Premier FC is proud to announce membership to the Boys Club Championship (BCC). The BCC was formed when several highly-regarded travel clubs from coast to coast got together to search for ways to get consistent, competitive matches for their U15-U18 boys teams.

"The goal of our program at LA Premier FC has always been to expose our players to college coaches on a consistent basis. Through the creation of the BCC and being able to align ourselves with nationally-recognized clubs with the same intent and motivation, we feel can only benefit our boys program in the years to come" said Barry Ritson Executive Committee Board Member for the Western Conference.

The first year of competition will consist of the under-15 through under-18 age groups, with it being left to the member clubs how rigorous a schedule the under-18 groups would play, and also if they wished to organize “pre-BCC” competition for their younger ages.

The Midwest Division of the BCC plans home and away matches in U15 through U17 with a limited schedule for the U13, U14, and U18 age groups in the inaugural season.

“Our philosophy has always been to test our players against the other top clubs and players across the country,” said Tim Lesiak, OESA Executive Director. “Our boys teams are highly competitive and the BCC gives us a consistent, competitive platform against similar clubs from different parts of the country.”

Some of the participating clubs include nationally-recognized outfits LA Premier FC(CA-S), Fullerton Rangers (CA-S), Slammers FC (CA-S), Gwinnett Soccer Association (GA), Albion SC (CA), Birmingham United (AL), Tennessee SC, Maryland United, FC Bucks (PA-E) and FC Virginia.

The BCC will be sanctioned by the USSSA, a multi-sport sanctioning body which has worked with U.S. Soccer since 2001. The USSSA offers BCC members maximum flexibility when it comes to roster construction, as teams and players already registered in US Youth and/or U.S. Club competitions would thus not see their participation options limited as a result.

“We know the quality of the clubs involved and it fits very well with how we operate.” commented Dave Schureck, OESA Director of Coaching, “Many of the directors (of the clubs involved) have experience in the ECNL and DA. High quality play is the obvious goal, but the BCC also will hold high standards in administration, fields, and organization.”
